About Tour for Tucson's Children
To participants and supporters of the Tour for Tucson’s Children
It is with deep regret that we inform you the 2009 Tour for Tucson’s Children event will not be taking place. As our preparation for the event began, it was evident that the resources necessary to plan and implement a safe and successful event were not available at this time. Compromising the long standing high quality of the rides, the walk/run and the Childrens’ Fiesta was not an option. This very difficult decision was made after careful consideration.
The 2008 Tour for Tucson’s Children marked a milestone in the history of the program. We celebrated 15 successful years of providing a safe, family oriented event for the Tucson community. The event has raised thousands of dollars for the Tour for Tucson’s Children Program Fund. The funds raised have benefited children in Tucson through a myriad of health, safety and wellness programs and helped insure children’s safety through the distribution of bike helmets.
The Tour for Tucson’s Children is sponsored by the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation, Fire and Police Departments in partnership with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office. Local business sponsorships and registration fees have supported the efforts of the City of Tucson and made the event possible.
The Tour for Tucson’s Children committee would like to thank you all for your continued support and loyalty over the past 15 years. Without each and everyone of you, the event would not have been successful.
We invite you to stay connected to the event and its future by visiting our event website.
Regards,
The Tour for Tucson’s Children Committee
About The Tour for Tucson's Children

The Tour for Tucson's Children is an annual family Fourth of July event. The event offers something for everyone including a 27-mile challenge ride, a 6.5 and 10 mile family ride, a 3 mile fun run/walk, a half mile kids' ride and a carnival with arts and crafts, games and inflatables. All proceeds from the event go to the Tour for Tucson's Children Program Fund.
For fifteen years thanks to the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department, the Tucson Fire Department, the Tucson Police Department and many local businesses, volunteers and community organizations the event has provided the Tucson community with Fourth of July fun.
The 2008 tour was a great success. Check here for more information and photos!
